Hotel Details

Our guests step back in time at the gracious Palacio de Dona Leonor, with its elegant guest rooms, a lovely restaurant and a swimming pool tucked away in the garden. The two-story hotel, in a 16th-century mansion built for the daughter of Spanish conquistador Pedro de Alvarado, wraps around a palm-shaded courtyard. The 13 rooms and suites are sumptuously appointed, many with tile floors, beamed ceilings and crystal chandeliers. The amenities vary, but you might find hard-carved wood furnishings or even grand fireplaces. Coffee and tea service, in-room safes and Wi-Fi access are nice touches. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and its wine list has an impressive selection of vintages. Room service is also an option. An aquamarine swimming pool sits within the walled gardens. Valet parking is available. The hotel is in the heart of the colonial capital of Antigua, less than a block from the city's central square and its beautiful cathedral. Numerous baroque churches, many of them lovingly restored, are within a few blocks. The city's symbol, the Arco de Santa Catalina that spans one of the main streets, is three blocks northwest. La Aurora International Airport is 23 miles east. Everything you'd want to see in Antigua is steps away from the centrally located Palacio de Dona Leonor, where a swimming pool, fine dining and plush rooms are all on offer.
