Hotel Details

Hosting seven kings over the centuries, the non-smoking Best Western Angel & Royal Hotel has a storied past, an atmospheric bar and restaurant and rooms that blend old-fashioned comforts and high-tech touches like free Wi-Fi. With a stone facade and columns of bay windows, the two-story Best Western Angel & Royal Hotel is said to be the oldest inn in Britain. It has a 600-year history, and the interiors, including the award-winning restaurant and the bar with its inglenook bar, preserve many of the original architectural details. Individually decorated with an eye on tradition, the 29 rooms and suites have period-style furnishings that often include four-poster beds. Modern amenities include flat-panel TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi connections. Little extras like trouser presses and coffee/tea service mean a lot. The tile bathrooms are modern and have hairdryers at the ready. Pets are welcome, and outdoor parking is free of charge. Situated in the southwest corner of Lincolnshire, the Best Western Angel & Royal Hotel is located in the traditional market town of Gratham. Belvoir Castle, Grimsthorpe Castle, Belton House and Woolsthorpe Manor are all within an easy drive from the hotel. The lovely Easton Walled Gardens is six miles south. East Midlands Airport is 36 miles west, and Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield is 51 miles north of the property. The Best Western Angel & Royal Hotel's location in Grantham couldn't be more convenient, but it's the historic hotel's handsome architecture and charming bar and restaurant that are the real draws for our guests headed to the area.
