Mt Koya (Koyasan), is covered with thick forests and surrounded by eight peaks. More than a million visitors come here annually. Meals in the lodging area of the temple are vegetarian. The history of this temple and lodging dates back to the Kamakura Era in the 12th century. Communal baths are available 24 hours a day. *Shukubo is originally a type of accommodation reserved to worshipers to study, pray and retreat. - Shukubo do not always offer amenities (including towels and toothbrushes). - You have to get back before curfew and follow time restrictions. - Children ages 6 and under will be charged for child facilities fee which do not include meals, Yukata and bedding. If necessary, the additional payment is required.
