Hotel Details

In addition to free Wi-Fi, parking and evening receptions, a location in the heart of historic Charleston is the big draw at non-smoking King Charles Inn. The four-story non-smoking King Charles encompasses an original 1830s hotel, the Pavilion, a spot frequented by a soldier named Edgar Allen Poe. Its 91 rooms feature plenty of free modern conveniences: Wi-Fi, flat-panel TVs, iHome docking stations, coffeemakers and mini-fridges. The BREW cafe serves breakfast (a la carte items) each morning and becomes a pub in the evening. There is a business center and a seasonal outdoor pool on-site as well as off-site gym access. The hotel offers free off-street parking. King Charles Inn is in the heart of historic Charleston, one block from the College of Charleston. The neighborhood is flush with restaurants, shops and classic southern architecture, and is a great area to explore on foot. The City Market, an open-air market in service since the 1800s, is just steps away, and is still full of traditional vendors, while King Street beckons with boutiques ranging from interior design to high fashion to antiques. The hotel is just a short stroll from Waterfront Park, with beautiful harbor views, or visit Rainbow Row, a strip of East Bay Street houses famously painted in Caribbean colors. Charleston International Airport is a 12-mile drive away. Pricline guests say King Charles Inn offers the best of both worlds: a location within "walking distance of all major downtown attractions" and a staff that is "very pleasant and very helpful."
